is she almost ready to lay?

I'm debating whether Pepper is close to laying! She is going on 8 months and is an Easter Egger.

Judging by the comb, I'd say she could lay any day, but it could be a few weeks. Can you post a side pic? What color is her vent?

What a pretty girl - definitely nearing (or at) the point of lay. Is her vent dry and puckered looking or plump and moist? It is possible she is laying and you are not realizing it due to her producing an egg in a color you are not looking for (ie brown when you are looking for blue)
