Is she broody?

As long as there is no precipitation, I would put her in the run during the day in the crate.

Being broody all in itself is stressful. Being away from her flock is also stressful. Sometimes you have to show tough love. Once she's not broody, the stress will go away.
It rained today and its supposed to rain tomorrow and the next I belive. If it doesnt I'll see what I can do

LOL i guess that doesnt work for every chicken, i read a million different things online how to stop your broody hen and there are weird "methods" such as dunking the hen in the water. Not sure if it works.
Ih I saw that too but we just gave her a bath instead plus she needed one because she had poop all matted in her feathers.

She outside now. The cage will be going in the morning. Right now we have blocked off the boxes so she is looking for a way to get in but seems to be digging in the bedding now. I will put her on the roost and hopefully, she stays up there because she cants sleep in the box.

I did that to my broodies (BOs) but it was in the heat of summer. Then they would lay eggs for a couple of weeks and go broody again. This went on for three years (three of them). They made lovely soup. 😕

omg, you not know how I just died of laughter! I needed that. lol But t seems to be working and she's been roosting herself and gets excited when I come into the coop so I think I also spoiled her. lol

That's wonderful, I'm glad you got her sorted out! The key really is keeping her in a crate with no bottom. When I used that technique, on @aart's advice, it only took 3 or 4 days to break them.

My silly birds would lay about 8 lovely eggs and then go broody. I really liked them, they were so gentle i could reach under them and gather eggs no problem. But they were losing weight and condition, it finally just seemed like a cruelty to let them continue. They were like this from their very first year! Oh, and when I cooled them off in the water, I only cooled their breast and bellies, I didn't completely baptize them! 😉
