I’ve got a sick chicken. We recently lost a few to a skunk in the middle of the day, which was shocking and devastating for my girls. Today they noticed this girl sneezing. Her comb looks a little pale too. Any advice?

She’s definitely struggling to breath, and somethings up. I’d separate her right away. If it’s respiratory it could spread to the others. There are many different respiratory sicknesses in chickens, so it’s hard to tell what she could have. It could be MG or Infectious Bronchitis. I know these two sicknesses cause sneezing. My flock has never had these, but my flock did get infectious Coryza, so I’ve got some experience in respiratory issues in chickens. It could also be something lodged in the throat that she is trying to dislodge. Look down her throat and see if you can see anything. If you don’t see anything lodged in her throat, smell the hens breath and see if it stinks. Some respiratory illnesses cause a nasty smell to form. See if you can hear her breathing. Does it have a gargling sound to it? Can you hear any wheezing when she breaths?
