Morning everyone,

My little Agnes is 16 weeks today and she is looking a little different than everyone else. I'm starting to wonder if Agnes should be Edward!
There has been no crowing, but the way she stands tall, has green tail feathers, and puffs her neck out at the other girls makes me think she may be a he!

Can you help?

I think I see saddle feathers, pointy skinny feathers by the tail. Also the tail itself looks more ragged a sign of a growing rooster tail. Pullet tails will have broad curved tail feathers.

I am going to guess rooster.
See if you can get a better look at the feathers near the tail.

Uh oh daddy is not going to be happy!

Can you guys tell me what saddle feathers are? And also what other things should I look at as tell signs that she is a he? She/he got pretty beat up by a hen that is no longer here when she/he first got here so I don't really know what to look at on the tail that some of you are saying.

Oh and how come he hasn't tried crowing yet? Isn't he old enough to try?

These are early saddle feathers if you look you can see some pointy feathers starting to grow. As the male grows the will begin to drape down across the back.
