Is she trying to go broody?

How funny I just had the same exact experience with my young Ameraucauna. I just put her in a separate area of my run where she couldn't get to the nest for 1 day and she quit. But she hasn't laid for over a week now so I was worried and posted about it.
Well, I saw today she is laying. She'll lay then sit on her egg. I thought maybe she was just a little tired but she stayed in there for hours before i decided enough was enough and took her out. Set her on concrete and she just sat there for a bit.

Bummer.
Heat stress?
Checked for bugs?

No bugs, first thing I checked for. We have been hot this week. I'm giving deep shade, ice to stand on/in, cool water, frozen treats, and they also have access to our garage which is air conditioned. That's why I'm a bit confused. She leaves the ac garage to go sit in the hot nesting box. I did notice shes plucked some feathers and was sitting on them in the box though. Nothing noticable but I saw them and checked her.

How does that work?
Do you have a little chicken door that say "Cool Inside"? :gig
Kind of. We have a doggy door that we just never took out. One chicken was brave enough to push through and they all followed. Now when I let them out of the run they all run to the garage. Some even fly so they dont have to touch the hot ground for to long.😂

Sorry, humors weird this morning....
....she sure sounds like she want to go broody.
That's what I keep thinking but so fat shes not sitting in there at night. Once I get her out it seems to do the trick....until the next day.

Huh....Just keep tossing her out...hopefully she is not just having a hard time laying.
She is laying, maybe not every day, but most day I get 7 eggs. And I have 7 laying pullets. I'll keep an eye on her. I'm thinking about getting a camera so I can see how long it takes her to lay since shes sitting on it afterwards. I don't want to continue to check on her because I feel that may cause her to take longer.
