hi all,
i am using shelf liner on top of rice hulls for our new ducklings, but i am wondering if that's too slippery and can cause that foot problem ducklings can get? it seemed fine at first, but now it's all slopped up w/ food and water! i am going to clean it several times per day, but just wanted to be sure.
thanks,
lisa

I would use wood shavings.

i just changed the liner for some old burlap we have. i read somewhere about a concern regarding ducklings eating their bedding? i have rice hulls and straw i can use, but right now i am using the rice hulls covered w/ burlap. i wanted to use the liner since it was easier to clean, but i think it may be too slippery.

thanks,
lisa

I have newspaper with paper towel on top of it and when the water gets spilled it tries eating the wet papertowel so I will be changing something the spilling or the paper towel. The cage I have has no bottom so I have a clear plastic under cage then the big wire cage then the newspaper and papertowel inside the cage.

It is a bit too cold still for it to go outside still to young we have terrible winds here will get chilled.
