Is the angry reaction necessary? PLEASE READ POST #1 FIRST

I'm confused about what the attachment in the first post is supposed to be showing? That there are angry reactions in the LGBT thread? I'd hope those are from members angry reacting to stories of discrimination or whatever to LGBT members and not from people angry reacting a thread where people of another sexual orientation can go to talk to other people who experience the world the way they do.

Unfortunately, those are actually from people trying to downvote a lovely and supportive thread.

ETA: when introduced, I don't believe the intention was for folks to use reactions to downvote content they don't agree with. It was to offer another option other than "like" for more sad/negative topics (like an injury or death of a bird). But now that reactions are available, people are going to use them however they want. And while I don't agree with downvoting, nothing is going to stop folks from doing it.

Or they could be reactions given to members there for tagging other members in to berate them with hate.

Nope. The first post

People should be able to use reactions freely on whatever posts they please.
Obviously you really shouldn't go around "angry facing" a members posts just because you didn't like one thing they said, but in that case it just shows their immaturity. And if they don't like something they should simply scroll past. Same goes for everyone else.

Using the angry emoji doesn't always mean it's directed at the member who's post received the reaction, I will sometimes use it when someone posts about something bad that had happened to them or their pets.

But no matter how people use it, it's up to you to decide how you react to it.
At the end of the day, these silly little "reactions" mean nothing. They can't actually effect you. So there's no reason for someone to get offended or cause a big deal over any of them.
