Is the colour of a pekin chick determined by the parents?

Hi, I am getting a breeding trio of pekin bantams soon, and I was wondering that, since pekin come in a variety of colours, should I have all three the same colour or have a mixture. I am looking to breed them (hence getting two hens and a cockerall) and wasn't sure what colour the chicks would be? Is it a mix of the parents' colour? Or maybe a random chance between the colours of the parents?

When crossing different varieties of the same breed, you usually end up with chicks that are neither variety, buts some sort of combination of both. That means the offspring would be useless to those looking for show birds or breeding stock of their own. Chicken breeds are not determined by ancestry and pedigree, but by how well a bird conforms to the written breed standard, and that includes plumage.
