Is the Egg fertilized?

I incubated eggs last year and didn't see any thing, no veins, no embryo, on day 7... or day ten... but at day 14 the egg had gotten much darker. by day 18 I could not see through the egg! They did not hatch, but when I eggtopsied there were fully formed chicks in them. So, I would go the distance with these eggs. There still may be a chance!

Thank you for telling me this! I was getting really doubtful but I really want to have hope- I’m glad there’s at least a little chance! (Also what does eggtopsied mean?) Thanks so much!

Eggtopsied means that when your eggs don't hatch, you crack them open and see what was going on in the egg. You only do this after about 4 days past hatch day because sometimes chicks can just be a little late to hatch.
I'm wishing you luck with your hatch!
