is ther any breed of rooster that is quieter than the others

I have two speckled sussex roos that have never crowed. No clue why, but they are my quietest roos.

I don't think so...Someone told us Silkies were somewhat more quiet....and we believed them....lol

I find my standard cochins are quiet. I have four cockerels and only one of them is crowing at 7 months. He is in the center coop with Orpingtons on one side and Polish on the other. Both of those cockerels crow all the time but the cochins don't answer back. Just my experience can't say for sure.

my silkies are quieter...but they're being compared to a jersey giant and buckeyes.

My silkies crow also just as much as my BR's, just think they sound a little softer!! I think it all depends on the rooster itself not the breed !!

My cochin rooster never crowed yet at 7 mo. He's the only rooster of 13. The girls must keep him in line! I had silkies that wouldnt stop. Good Luck!!
