This is a bit silly but one of my daughters all time favorite books is the Chicken That Could Swim written by Paul Adshead. In it there is a beautiful white duck who lays blueish/green eggs and since we just got some Americauna chicks she asked if the duck was one too. I didn't know the answer and did a search and couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if this is a real breed or just made up for the story? Thanks

Many of my cayuga hens lay green eggs and it is quite common in the cayugas to lay eggs that color, but they will also lay black, grey, and white eggs. And all but one of my call ducks lay green eggs the grey call duck hen lays white eggs.

There are Blue/Green layers in almost every breed of duck. It could be a White Runner, White Hookbill, White Campbell, maybe even a Pekin. Really just about anything. Of course, there are a lot of birds in each breed that don't lay blue/green eggs as well.
