Is there a caterpillar that isn't good for chickens?

I found that a bunch of reddish with black and white spots/lines caterpillars are feasting on my pansies in the ground. Darn those things!!! Figured I'd throw a couple into the run and see if my pullets would eat them. Wondering if there is such a bug/caterpillar that are poisonous to them...or would they just ignore if so?
