Is there a easy way to clean a kiddie pool in a duck run?

Is there a easy way to clean a kiddie pool in a duck run? Or am I wishful thinking?

I know some people set up a drain system, there is a thread here on pools, perhaps the info is in there? I don't really have a pen/run, it's a 1/3 of an acre fenced then they free range so i just dump mine, yes that means an area is always muddy/wet but it dries out in the hot summers and the ducks love the water/mud to truffle but i realize in smaller spaces that won't work so well.

I don't have pics, but what I did for my last kiddie pool was:
Went to home depot, bought a big appx 2" drain. It's the kind you screw together, one part inside one part outside. Then I attached a 90 degree PVC bend and a length of pipe to that. Really easy work, just buy some PVC cement. Finally I put a screw cap at the end of the outflow pipe. Just unscrewed it to drain the whole deal.

If you're going that route, go with a min of 1" pipe. The mess and feathers can clog smaller pipe.

Of course the plumbing costs 2x what the pool does. But hooray for convenience.

I have my swim pans uphill from gardens, so I dump them into shallow channels, rinse and refill.
