I don't have pics, but what I did for my last kiddie pool was:
Went to home depot, bought a big appx 2" drain. It's the kind you screw together, one part inside one part outside. Then I attached a 90 degree PVC bend and a length of pipe to that. Really easy work, just buy some PVC cement. Finally I put a screw cap at the end of the outflow pipe. Just unscrewed it to drain the whole deal.
If you're going that route, go with a min of 1" pipe. The mess and feathers can clog smaller pipe.
Of course the plumbing costs 2x what the pool does. But hooray for convenience.
