is there a frizzle thread?

I'm not a genetics expert but I don't think you can breed frizzled anythings. The frizzle gene shouldn't be present in both parents.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
That said I had a few frizzles I got from Sandhill.
All but one got eaten by dogs but the one I have left is one of my best broody moms. She does lay well also on the rare occasion she's not broody.

You still get the desired gene in 50% of the offspring, which is all you need. That's why there are indeed frizzled Polish, Ameraucanas, Cochins, Easter Eggers, Seramas, etc - And they're healthy birds.


Frizzle x Frizzle does indeed create 25% unwanted "frazzles" but that's why it is recommended you do Frizzle x non-Frizzle.

from what i understand u cant breed a frizzle to a frizzle and get frizzles. if you read my post am i on the right track as far as breeding the frizzle gene and trying to get a pure frizzle d'uccle?
