Is there a market for roosters?

[Still Amateur]

I have one each of 7+ month old Lavender and Blue Ameraucana roosters. We weren’t supposed to have any roos, but the hatcheries made some mistakes. Oh well.

We planned to cull them soon but honestly these are some really pretty birds… I’d rather pass on their genes. Anyone know of a market for them in the Raleigh, NC area? Obviously I want them to go to a breeder and not some wicked fight ring.

We have a black laced red Wyandotte that my wife has decided to keep, so we don’t need three roos in our flock of 22 females (23 now that we had a broody hatch 3… but of course two of those were Roos too lol).

That’s a valid point and a good idea, but I don’t want to part with any of my hens.

I buy chicks when I need a couple more hens.This is easier than finding homes for all the extra roosters my hens would normally hatch.I have a rooster but don't let my hens hatch their own chicks

In my area I do a real tap dance to find good roosters a home. I usually do, and I always get complements on my roosters because they are nice.

Only a handful of people have chickens here so its not an option!

I would love to have a lavender rooster but I can't keep more than one rooster in a flock of 12 hens .Good luck!
