Is there a name for this sort of colouring?

The chicken in the original post has what I call the "S'mores" coloring (toasted marshmallow, graham and dark chocolate). I like the Norwegian Jaerhons because of the coloring too and I call them "S'mores" chickens, too (although they are a bit more of a burnt marshmallow instead of toasted)...but a S'more is a S'more.

And yes, this is completely unrelated to the "proper terminology for coloring of a chicken breed" yadda yadda, but I wanted to add my 2 cents anyway.

I also call Sebright Bantams and Silver Laced Wyandottes "Spiderchickens" because their feathers remind me of spiderwebs.

I think she is stinking adorable no matter what. Dilute or not, she is a keeper! I agree with Sonoran - she is sort of partridge, just not up to the standard. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Yes..Breed to a partridge cochin with from a line with really good penciling, and her offspring should have much better penciling. It is something you will have to work on,for awhile, though, because that breeding will reduce crest size even further

If you could find a sizzle that has good penciling, of course, that would be ideal

Sonoran, the pictures you gave for partridge look much different from my own cochin girl. The colour is much lighter in the pictures you posted.

Does that mean my partridge girl has poor pencilling?

Nothing better than being pecked in the face by your adopted children ;)

Just adding a really good photo of her pencilling

Just found out this morning that when sizzle feathers get wet they go straight, who'd of thought LOL (had some misty rain for the first time since we got them)

Shows off the pencilling better so took a photos (well for that and just cause she looked funny straight :)
