IS THERE A PHOENIX THREAD?

Actually, I'd rather see pictures of the Phoenix just as they are and not posed. To be honest, I wish to be sure the birds are similar to mine. Numerous people are raising Phoenix that carry their tails high. I'm more into the pheasant look where the tails are low to the ground.
Here are some pics I just got of my roosters and a few of my hens. Excuse the photo bombs from some of the other chickens (and one emu)! I tried to just get the Phoenix up in the front but it was hard when some of the others caught on and some of my other Phoenix hens are in a nesting box. 😆
One of the girls is of course on eggs.

If you ever come up with a true red pyle color in a long-tailed bantam, PLEASE look me up! I don't care about the breeding or the number of toes. I have enough chickens in my little flock to do "regular chicken duties." I just want another pretty shoulder ornament to spoil. My Yukon would ride like a parrot and walk on a leash!
The hen I mentioned will soon be broody again and I plan to let her hatch her own eggs this time. The rooster is the white in the far above picture. While she has to much of the red and not enough white, paired to a white roo may assist in coming up with the color you like. I'll try to get a decent picture of her to post. These are the black-breasted reds I lost to the dog. I have a few of their chicks so I'm hoping they will be as good. Three are a couple months old and give every indication of being great Phoenix.

Beautiful! Not as low slung as mine but close. I would be pleased to swap eggs should you wish to. I especially like the hens. You would do well to cross your goldens with reds to get a more vibrant gold. This is a cross breed I did to achieve a nice gold. I have since sold him as I did not want a cross breed rooster to deal with. I thought the bird beautiful, but didn't want that tail genetics to be passed on to my chicks.

That would be great! I would love to swap eggs maybe sometime in a few months, if you were able to. I need to put these in breeding pens separate from the others first so they wouldn't be mixed. I see you're in Tennessee which isn't too far from Arkansas. The only problem is that if I were to ship the eggs, I'm not NPIP certified quite yet. I'm on a waiting list out here and it could be October or November before I get certified. I'm not sure if you have to have the certification to ship the eggs just a few hours away or not. Maybe we can discuss this more on when would be a good time? I am not in a rush so it can wait until next spring if needed.

Wow! What pretty colors. I never really realized the difference in the tails some of the Phoenix have.

At this time, one hen has new chicks, another is molting so isn't laying, and my third??? Time to start looking for hidden nests. I only have Phoenix roosters of equal quality so my birds free-range. My serama are never allowed out of the coop. I did find a Call duck nest on top of my serama coop today. Amazing the lengths these birds go to in order to hide their eggs! As to certification, I doubt anyone would ask. PM me about this if you wish.

As for when, I suppose when we both have extra eggs. I would prefer soon rather than later so the chicks are mature come spring.

There is a breed thread, but its been almost a year since I last saw a post and I'm not about to hunt it down.

I raise the standards, and get all sorts of different colors from my gold duckwings (that was what the 4 I originally bought were and what I ordered from the hatchery to add more blood variety). I have some pictures in my album of them, especially my flock master Westeros

I found the Phoenix thread and it looks unused. I will look forward to seeing pictures.

Ok, I'm sending a PM

Here's some of them. I'll be getting white eggs next spring because I NEED an unrelated male before i start having more bloodline problems. Only downside is that nearly every bird i have is a white carrier already, so I'll be hatching a ton of whites

Here's Westeros, the flock master

Here's my female thrower with 2 of her chicks, she rarely has males (think there have been 5 out of 30 of her chicks?)

Strawberry. She raised a quail chick with her most recent batch of Pheonix chicks. Molting now, so she looks Rumpless

4 pullets, ignore the mixed male with them, I'm just moving birds around now and have someone who might be interested in them

And 2 broodies with 10 or 9 chicks between them. One is from my flock, one is a hatchery pheonix. There are some Cornish bantams in the chick batch, one EE somewhere and the rest are Pheonix
