Thabks. He's my baby boy, but he's getting old. He was at least 3 when I took him and his girls home, and that was 3, 4, 5 years ago now? He's such a good male too, apart from trying to spar with my Sumatra male through the wire

Every bird, even female that survives the winter here ends up with frostbite. He actually has a lot comb left for a single combed male. If you look at his feet, hes mostimg all his front toenails besodes maybe oneA beautiful bird. The picture makes his comb look odd-like it was frost-bitten, or is it just the picture. Even in TN I have frost-bite problems some years.
Silkie phoenixes! I want to see that! I wonder what their tails would be like. NN Phoenixes would all so be interesting! My plan next year is to start adding silkie genes and work towards a sillies pheonix.
Also A second project with NN genes, accidentally ended up with a pullet NN/Pheonix this year already so she will be bred to the blonde male to start reinforcing the Pheonix feathering

I started the silkie/phoenix project last year and have two youngsters that are silkied this year. I'm wondering just how well silkied feathers will hold up long or if they will get long. These two are third generation; the products of two birds that are 3/4th Phoenix and 1/4th silkie. My plan next year is to start adding silkie genes and work towards a sillies pheonix.
