Chicken Kisser
I do the opposite, if I need to go in there I do.
The more time you spend in the coop the less disturbance you will be,
they'll get used to your presence and it won't be a big deal.
Not unusual for a bird to set in a nest but not lay until later, especially new layers.
LOL. That’s totally how I act around my roosters, but for the ladies, I was just trying to be considerate! Seriously, it seems to me laying an egg is something of a private event, a little miracle worthy of reverence.I do the same. My birds are so used to me I can grab eggs from under them. They don't even stir.
I'm relieved to know my presence probably isn’t overly disruptive. I was concerned if delaying “de lay” would be harmful. (”de lay” get it?
