Is there a site where you can check your chickens droppings ?

imp thanks !! and loralei , it just started this friday with his droppings ... and then I notice he was not crowing & tail hanging low , and kept his head tuck into his wing, I was sick yesterday so I didnt get to see him , but this morning he was kinda off balance with his walk and comb purple(which his is dubbed) and pale almost white face... I brung him in gave a really nice warm bath dried him off and held for awhile called the 4-h leader and she said to bring him by she had some meds. I could hear like crackley sound around his beak.. she said upper resp. and he kept his eyes closed almost day , At 1 point I thought about letting him go.. but I kept praying and asked God give me a sign and if he was to be ok let him open his eyes and he opend 1 eye... now i have him beside me with a light on him , his comb went back to a nice red color but he actually laying on his stomach with his wings out to the side and breathing I can see eyes moving under his lids and every once in awhile he will flap his wings and open his eyes & hold his head for a split sec. giving him small drops of the meds mixed with his water about 40-45 mins , Is that ok ? still learning with all the chicken business ... what do you think ? oh he does not free range ...

Well it does not sound like cocci which is good news! You're in Florida. Has it been really rain? Have you had lots of mosquittos? Perhaps wet pox? It's just a thought.

Is he eating and drinking? I would treat a respiratory infection aggressively with an injectable antibiotic like Tylan-50. I can provide more info on this if you like.

If he is eating make him a scrambled egg. He will need the protein. Many here recommend a mash too. I make mine using cream of wheat, yogurt, crumbles, apple sauce or mashed banana (my birds go crazy for bananas!).

I hope something here helps!

God bless,
Laura
