I have a bunch of chicks that I ordered, they have been vaccinated for mareks have never been outside my house, are in a brooder contained in a room not near any of my other birds. They were hatched March 21st or so. Out of 10 blue quail OE's that I got and this is the second one that is showing neurological symptoms. The first one began acting like it had wryneck and it didn't do well so we culled it. It was in the first week we had the chicks. Now I've got another blue quail that is having neurologic symptoms appearing mostly in the legs. It is still able to walk a little but very shakily and falling over. I'm treating it with a vitamin mixture but want to know if anyone has ever tried to treat a condition like this besides culling. The little bird is eating and drinking and trying to make a go at it so as long as it's trying, I will try to save it. They are being fed purina start n grow medicated and get fresh water at least twice daily as they make a mess in it. They are on pelleted corncob litter (marketed as horse bedding) that falls into a powder when it gets wet or degrades and is safe if ingested.

Try some vitamin B complex. Crush it up and mix it with some yogurt or scrambled egg. I had a chick that was fine for a few weeks and then suddenly started acting like it was off kilter. I did this and she is now over a year old. Good luck!
