Is there a way to edit posts that can't be edited anymore?

Hi all.
I have a thread whose main posts I update frequently, because it's a RP character archive.
BUT, I can't edit those posts anymore!
What should I do?
And what determines when a post can no longer be edited?

Report the post and in the comment box ask for what ever you want added to be added...

What does PFM stand for? Also why & when did posts stop being able to be edited?
Seems to make it inconvenient when the first post needs to be edited to give specific page references to navigate thru long threads.
