Is there a way to prevent a rooster from crowing??

To my knowledge Cornish X are artificially inseminated so they will not reproduce on their own because they will get so big that they can’t even walk and/or will die of a heart attack if not culled unfortunately.

I personally don’t ever get Cornish X because I feel that’s a cruel and unnatural thing for a bird but they are great for meat for those who like the meat to feed ratio.

Sorry to hear that they gave you the wrong chicks. Have you tried calling them and seeing if they’ll replace them?
Well it was a while back, and my family didn't think it was the wrong breed until about a week ago. We will probably get more chicks in the fall.

I have heard that they can lay some eggs, about one a week. I will get some photos in a minute.

If you’re feeding them organic feed which I know is expensive, 1 a week will eat up your feed bill with nothing in return unless you are just keeping them as pets.

It doesn’t hurt to ask but if you rather just leave it then that’s fine.

Hello, I have a 6 week old cornish X that I plan to keep and not cull. I was wondering if there was a way to prevent crowing from earlier on?
There are collars you can buy and put around their neck to prevent them from expanding their air sac so the crow doesn't get enough air to be loud. I haven't used one, since I don't have roosters. I live in town and the neighbors would strangle me. Seriously, I would think that it would be rather cruel for the poor rooster though.

Well i don't know if we would get something in return from TSC but it is worth a try

I'm sorry that you got the wrong breed..... IMO It is cruel to try to keep them alive if they are true Cornish X.

They will die from a heart attack or have terrible foot problems. They are just to big to keep healthy and they will probably suffer if you don't cull them. I'm sorry.

When I got my chicks TSC got them wrong but luckily they were not meat chickens. I personally don't agree with those meat chickens because they are unnaturally large and can't keep themselves alive long....
