Is there a way to prevent ducks from laying in the pond?

Not to change the subject ... I have chickens, never ever seen it in the past but I had an EE pullet walking casualling in front of me, when out popped an egg. I was shocked, she did it in mid - walk. She stopped & turned around, had the funniest look & walked away. The rest came running, I picked it up & it was wet with bloom. It never happened again.

My ducks stay in the water all night, but I rarely find eggs in the water. Sometimes, I think it’s ones that just plop out, but usually there aren’t many.
