My ducks call for me at about that time in the morning, somewhere between 6 and 7 a.m. The way I get them to quiet down is to go out and say good morning, and get them into their run and tidy up for them. They make more noise when they're hungry, so I make sure they have enough food.
Something for you to consider is whether there might be room in the house for the two ducks. Then her early morning cheerful greetings will be muffled for the neighbors.
I keep mine overnight in the walkout basement during the winter, and it works out well. I have flooring in the basement and put about four inches of straw over that, with a watering station that catches splash, and it had some great advantages, especially during wicked winter storms. It did not smell bad, and only took fifteen to twenty minutes daily, and an extra hour once a week to keep the pen quite clean. I have ten runners.
