I cleaned out the chicken pen today and was covered when I was done. The chickens were cute and annoying at the same time totally getting in the way trying to see it I was digging anything good up. I actually would lift a shovel full of poo and a chicken standing on it. I was so tired by 4:30 I quit so tomorrow I get to finish it. At least the weather is perfect out! I'm sun-burnt tho

the only way I have found NOT to get covered in chicken poo when its coop cleaning time is to stand outside the run while hubby does it... LOL

Opps dear you missed a spot..

eta: I cant even go into the coop and collect eggs with out getting poo on me somewhere. I usually rub the back of my arm about elbow level on the poop boards right after I have scraped them so the wet stuff is smeared ..

The husband thing is the only sure fire way. But I got some thin Dickies coveralls that do help also when worn with tall rubber boots. Am I the only one who constantly accidently sticks my hand in the poop when collecting eggs?

You simply MUST get one of these ultra-modern chicken coops...

Central vac...

And a nice wet and dry vacuum is just the thing for collecting fresh eggs
every...just turn it on, and hold your handy dandy egg basket out...
