Saigey
Songster
I'm not even gonna lie, that was starting to be a concern.Well we have a new ducky to look forward too so that is exciting. And nothing came out of the egg and ate Saigey and Downey.

He's so used to being with just one partner, then just being with me. I don't want him to attack the baby, lol. We went through that with Jackie. It was almost as stressful as the alien egg.Even if you got 2 ducklings they could still be Downey's buddies.
That's exactly how it was with Jackie. He was not a fan at all, but I did slow introductions just like you explained and they eventually became best buddies. He is not a fan of swimming in the lake (he prefers his pool) or going off in the woods (he prefers his little garden space) but he stayed right by her side until she decided she was ready to go. Then he came home, she didn't, and she comes back to visit and does fly-bys, but he doesn't go after her. He's such a good little man. I just got a text that the guy is delayed for 2 weeks, but I texted him back and hopefully he'll have some hatching then, too. I don't think I could do a 4 1/2 hour each way drive. He may not take to a duckling as you know but he will eventually warm up to another duck buddy.
