So, the wood ducks in our wood duck house seem to have hatched this morning (YAY!). I was cleaning out the box and found two eggs. One was definitely gone, but I honestly can't tell if there's a little duckie in this one or not! I've got it in a makeshift incubator just in case.

Part of me wants to say this is a no-go egg - but there may well be finer details that I cannot see in these pictures so I'm reluctant to write it off just yet without further investigation.

Suggest you incubate it for 5-7 days (just in case it was recently laid) and then candle again. IF it were recently laid - then in 7 days time you should see definite signs of veining and development. If it is an older egg then it will not have changed much.

Thanks! I was tempted to say it was a late development quitter, but it doesn't stink, doesn't have any cracks, and the air cell is definitely not punctured. I've got it at high humidity and at about 90° F. I'm not turning it, just in case. If there is development, it's somewhere in the later stages.
