Is there anyone you didn't feel comfortable selling to?

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!! Thank God you are okay. If that had happen at our house i don't know what would have happen. My dogs are always with me and my little female Bichon has gone after people who threaten me before. My lab is learning from her.

Just read this whole thread I am so sorry you had to deal with these " horrible buyers" I am glad you are okay, and I hope I will never have to deal with buyers like that!

Scary. Makes me think when I show pups to people maybe I should have my dad or someone come over. Even though I know my cattle dog would die to protect me.

What is wrong with people today. Nanny 911 needs to baby sit both the parents and child

Uhhhhhh... wow.

You did a great job telling them off! I'd put up security cameras around, IMHO.

I let DH read this story.
Want to know what he thought the scariest part was?

That you had a room just for chickens, in your house!

I explained it's for button quail, not chickens. He thinks quail are a 'gateway' bird. You have outdoor birds inside

I didn't tell him about the new Seramas, as that would've just proven his point.

I get scolded every time I bring a bird inside, no matter what the reason.

To be fair, the reason they're indoors is because I got them in October

It was too cold at that point to turn them into outdoor birds. We are building coops for them outdoors as soon as the snow melts and I can sink stakes into the ground.

The Seramas will always be indoor birds for the fall/winter, but they're also going outside as soon as the weather warms up.

The Buttons probably won't go outside. They're too small to take any sort of temperature change well.

The room isn't just for them. It's the library, where they're currently stored. You could really scare him and tell him that the entire front room of my house is dedicated to quail

Thank you, but he's scared enough by the 60+ eggs I have in the incubator & hatcher at the moment!! Luckily, I have homes set up for the over-flow with various chicken friends/ addicts.
DH can easily visualize me having chickens in the basement well beyond the hatching & brooder stage. And he doesn't like it. Especially when I want to play with chicks upstairs (gasp) in front of the fireplace. Birds are forbidden upstairs. I tend to forget that rule too frequently.

He was really scared when I got button quail eggs and started cleaning out the hamster tanks.
(The hamsters died of old age 2 years ago and I wouldn't let him sell the tanks. They've been stored in the garage ever since. I just KNEW I'd have a use for them someday)
Sadly, the button eggs didn't survive the power outtage we had a couple of weeks ago

I plan on trying again in a few weeks, when bator space opens back up

Already have homes in case I get a good hatch of those, too. I'm such an enabler
