Is there anything my chicken's SHOULDN'T have?

Can anyone tell me why no avocados? What is in them that is bad for chickens? Before I read this, my daughter (9) was sharing her avocado from sandwiches and guacamole with our girls. They LOVED it and my DD was so proud that she had found a treat that they especially went crazy for. I would like to be able to tell her why they can't have it anymore!

We haven't given our girls the peels or pit but they sure do love the "meat". Or is it called "flesh"?
