I have a 14 week old Blue Andalusian roo and he will not stop crowing. He crows all the time. It is really starting to drive us nuts. I like hearing him but not as much as he does. I am on the verge of turning him into supper. He is not agressive to us but he also does not like to come around us either. He is starting to get pretty mean to the hens to. He is not being nice to them at all. When I put out scratch for them he will actually chase all the hens off until he is full. He is a very pretty bird but if he does not shape up and quite down he will make it in the pot very quickly...

Anyone have any suggestions on how to make him be nicer to the hens or keep him from crowing so much?

Thanks
Shaun

Um, you really can't make a rooster become nicer......(in my opinion). I say, make him "supper" instead........

Unfortunatley you might have to make him super. Unless you can wait till he is out of his teen years. lol! I have had plenty of roos that i had to seperate from the hens till they were a little over a year. Sometimes they would calm down and be nicer. Sometimes not, i have not ever killed on i sell them to others who do. I know weird, I cant eat my chickens but i can let someone else eat them. LOL!

But if you can wait then give it a try. He might turn out to be the nicest rooster. As for the scratch. If you can possible seperate him and let the hens eat first it might teach him to let his hens eat first. Hope you get this figured out.

I figure I would give him a couple more weeks and then decide what I wanted to do next. I just wish he would treat the hens better.

He might make a good supper to though.
