Is there any way to get TSC to sell me just one chick. I bought 8 chicks from TSC on Friday 6 pullets and 2 little black banties (sp). Well the 2 little black ones where for my daughter she seen them and that is what she wanted. Well between Sat and Sunday I went from 8 chicks to 27. I lost one Saturday night but all the others have done great.

Well we came home from BB practice my daughter was the first one in the house and she came back out the door bawling and sobing the smaller of the 2 little chicks was gone. I have no idea what caused it but it was obvious that at some point it had been picked at. I don't know if he got smooshed as they all like to lay together to sleep ( and it isn't even under the light so I don't think its a cold thing the temp is good).

Anyways she really wants me to get her another one, but I really don't need 6 more chicks...I would be in the Chicken Coupe ...

The one near me has the 6 chick minimum.
It never hurts to ask though. Let them know that you do have other chics near the same age at home that the little one will be put in with. This may help persuade them to bend their rule(?).

I was hoping and of course that would of only helped if they had an ine. The TSC here is only about 2wks old and can't keep chicks in

My sister got away with two, she told them her sister had like twenty and was a pro chicksitter. I would tell your story and maybe they will bend the rules.

Why not go to TSC...wait till someone else comes in that is buying...and ask them to put the one you want in the box with theirs.
Just give them the money...and when you leave the store take the peep out of their box and go home.

Do you have a recipt for others you bought, so you could show them you met the minimum. Your daughters favorite died and you would like one replacement chick.

I think it depends on the TSC. The one in town won't bend the rules for anyone, ever. The smaller one that is closer to me let me get smaller amounts last year. They know I have birds at home, they actually begged me to take one duck last year (she was the last duckling and they didn't want a two week old duckling in with the new shipment). Tell them what happened, if you have the receipt even better, and see what they say. Otherwise I would do as has been suggested and ask someone who is getting chicks to add one more and pay them for it.
