Is there something wrong with this chick?

I have a 3 day old chick that has been standing around with its eyes closed, wings sometimes held out from its body, and its rear end is throbbing. The anal opening is clear, but it looks a little inflamed.

(I had cleaned some dried poop off the area below the vent area which is why it looks wet). What could be wrong with this chick and is there anything I can do to help? They are in a brooder with a Premier heating plate, medicated chick starter and clean water. If it matters, I had put a few drops of Nutridrench in yesterday's water.

Was the poop blocking the vent opening? It could have been that, since untreated pasty butt leads to toxic waste buildup.

Nope, the dried poop was below.

It looks okay, she might just be very tired, escaping an egg prison is hard work, but let us know if there is any other problems.

Also, a lot of my chicks act tired, and week, and don't like to move so I add sugar to their water it gets them perked up.

Could it be an anal tear from clearing away the hardened poop? Maybe give it some time and add an antibiotic to the area if it remains throbbing/inflamed?
