Is there such a thing as a stealth chicken tractor?

If you get any loudmouthed birds like I have, and have close neighbors, you can scrap that "Stealth" idea. I have a few hens that seem to want the WORLD to know they just layed an egg. They can go on and on for like a half hour. They also have friends that sometimes like to yell back and forth with them.
It always cracks me up, when somebody talks about a "StealthCoop". Unless you muzzle all of them, it just ain't possible.

I agree, some of my hens are louder than the roosters.

If you're in a rural area, what are your zoning laws? Who says you can't have chickens? If it's your neighbors, I'd say they can just deal.

My 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes are very quiet, the 1 Golden that has laid, not so much. The verdict is still out on the 2nd golden as she still has not yet laid at 43 weeks. I'd rather listen to a hen from dawn to dusk than a yappy mutt 24/7 but then the owner of the yappy mutt is sure to blame the hens for the dog's yappiness.

I started first with a chicken tractor for 4 chickens. I purchased the tractor and it was designed for no more than 4 chickens. I used it for about 3 months before I gave up on it and built a stationary coop. I had two problems with the tractor. One, it was heavy. Moving it was a workout in itself, and the second reason was due to foxes. The foxes would jump on top of the tractor itself which would cause pandemonium and loud screams from the chickens.

Oh lovely! We have seen foxes - maybe I just need to get a big dog and talk my dh into a fence...

No zoning laws at all in my county, just my crabby neighbor and her sidekick next door neighbor. :0/

There is a nasty little dog next door (VERY aggressive Sheltie) that barks CONSTANTLY, although, I give them credit for having him inside.

Soooo... why do you need a stealth coop? Put up a nice coop, the one you've always wanted. Put up a fence or fenced run, and make very sure the chickens never go off your property. If your neighbors raise a fuss, tell them politely that you are legally allowed to have chickens, and it's unfortunate that they find the chickens distasteful, but they are here to stay. DO NOT say you are sorry in any way. You have a legal right to have chickens on your property, and they can just deal. If you want to be super nice, don't have any roosters. If you're not in a nice mood, get that lovely rooster to keep your girls company, too.

Weeeeeell, years ago when they made the covenants in our neighborhood they added no chickens. However, they were never filed with the county, so essentially they are not valid and legally no one can do anything to force me to get rid of them. The rub comes in to play where most people do not know the covenants are not valid (only a small handful know, as my husband discovered it when he became president of the HOA a couple of years ago). If I raise a stink and make it known there is no legal standing to enforce the covenants they will have no legal action available to enforce the HOA dues payments which go for the upkeep of our roads, etc. So essentially, I need to keep them quiet for the general well being of the neighborhood.

Seriously...would be hard to stealth chickens, they are noisy buggers...the hens can be just as loud as the roosters, just usually not as early in the morning.
