I killed my beta. I bought him before my pet frenzy started. I forgot he was in his bowl for a couple of days and I think he died of starvation. Oh dear, was doing to much with my other animals. Got canaries breeding, quails breeding, a new kitten, my dog shadow, 5 green tree frogs and a huge tank of tropical fish. Since he died, I will just stick with what I have. Well you new fish looks great, hope it survives the shipping!
The bettas arrived and are so far well despite it being -2 F outdoors. There was a heat pack in their box. The female has surprisingly large fins and she is in my 55 gallon community tank for now. I have a blue Libby betta male in there who ignors her. The angels though are very curious and she stays around a large clump of sphagnum moss I have sunk in the tank. I have the male in a large gallon pickel jar for a few days until he has time to settle and then I will move him to a tan gallon tank I have in my office at work. They are young fish and much smaller than my blue male. I can't wait for this tri colored crown tail to reach full size, he is going to be stunning!
Good luck with them! Which transporter did you use? Generally, the fish from Thailand are in excellent shape. I've ordered numerous bettas from Thailand without any issues. Keep us updated if you breed. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I have a good bit of experience in bettas.
Man, that is one stunning fish. I think he looks like a sunflower, which could be his name. Or a giant chrysanthamum (I am so sure I spelled that wrong). Anyway, I think he looks like a flower, but that is not a manly sort of name, so how about Flores.
