Is this a beautiful fish or what?

I agree 100%. You look at the petstore fish long enough they all have white mold on there sides from all the nets going in the same tanksand ick is on almost all of them.

Thankfully my pet store is different. I go to Jack's Aquarium and Pets. While I do see a dead fish here and there, they do medicate their fish when needed and every so often I will see tanks with signs that say "These fish are not for sale today."

I wish Petco would do that. I bought six snails today and some wild guppies i plan on breeding with my pure red guppies to see what i get. But first they have a few months of meds for there ick and mold growth. I think i saved them a painful life in the petstore. I love rescuing them and bredding them:) makes me so happy. I hope to breed the snails too, wich are healthy.

Here are my Pure Reds Im Growing Out. Giving so many away, went from 60 to 18 fry.

Here are the Wild Guppies You can see there not too healthy, i should fix them up nice. Im going to keep a pure line and a RedXWild Cross

Nice fish everyone! I love the bettas!

USSChicago,

Nice snails! They look like dark footed chocolate apple snails. Just so you know, to breed apple (AKA mystery snails) you need both a male and a female. Hopefully out of the six you bought you have some of both sexes. The eggs are real neat though. They lay them above the line of the water and you can pick them off and hatch them in another container. Just make sure you have a few inches between the water line and the top of the aquarium.

I had all sorts of apple snails for awhile there and there are so many colors. I never did get mine to breed, but they had such personality. They would come to the top and eat lettuce from my fingers.

Snails are exciting! My friends used to make fun of me because I liked them so much. I'd love to have more but I'm currently over run with ramshorns in my ten gallon. Those ones are breeding monters.

Mosquito Fish,Gambusia affinis, are the same thing as wild guppies. Diffrent than fancy .

I'm aware of the difference between WILD and FANCY! But all you will get are hybrids that will most likely not be able to reproduce. The scientific name for the fancy guppy is Poecilia reticulata. They are two completely different species.

The "mosquito fish" is a wild guppy right? Or are they hybrids? I want a pure strain of wild guppies and all the research i did says these are pure wilds
