Is this a Black-Sex-Link?

Maybe? What were his parents? Or better, where did you get him?

It's parents are probably a light sussex (looks like this) not mother though.

To get a black sex link, you need to have a barred mother, not father. Not sure why this works, but it does. Sorry...

Would the baby be male anyway? It;s growing a tail and small spurs on its legs?

Tails are seen on almost all fowl!

It's the length that gets ya....

Spurs are also seen on both males and females.

If you could get a closer shot of it....facing towards us instead of running away that would REALLY help us figure it out.

Well, if those are actually its parents, then the chick is not a sexlinked anything. Pics aren't good enough to tell the sex.
