Is this a blood ring? AHH A BACTERIAL RING?

This was on day 13...

I tossed it.

Doesn't look like any of the bloodrings I"ve seen - keep us posted when you candle again!

To me it looks like a fertile egg that is in the first stages of development. When they first start growing the yolk will look like it becomes darker, heavier and will start to look like it's flattening out. If you don't see veins in those eggs in a couple of days I would be very surprised. Plus, I have never heard of bloodrings as early as 4 days....none that are discernable by candling anyway...

This early you really don't need to worry about stinking eggs. I have opened non-fertile eggs after 7 days they don't smell.

Yeah... the 4 I tossed yesterday I opened (13 days -developed and died) and they weren't terribly stinky...

Congratulations on the veins... now just sit on your hands, except to turn them or add water!!! LOL!

(gawd, why was that such a hard lesson for me to learn???)

This is a blood ring. Your egg looks like some of mine that are rather porous. They usually don't hatch, but I would hold onto it unless it "weeps" or smells.
