Is this a blood ring? (Incubation Day 6)

If you are interested in Marans, look up. Cypress Duck Farm on the net, we have had great luck with him. He is here in Louisiana and is a very nice man. His name is Dan Barger, I will be calling him when I get a broody or 2 this spring. He ships and usually ships extra, just in case, his hatch rate is about 90%. I usually call then take a ride in the country and pick my fertile eggs up and he insists on giving me extra, even though once I drive off, it is no longer his responsibility. He also has chicks sometimes. His hens lay lovely, big brown eggs once they start laying.
Thank you for sharing that info with me! I looked him up online and was looking at his flock photos and they are some beautiful hens! Do you happen to know if he's still actively delivering? I meant to contact him today but It's been a busy day. I am planning on calling tomorrow at some point early on in the day!

I believe he is still in business, unless the last hurricane took him out. Sometimes he is slow with his upkeep of the web page. I would call and see if he is still shipping. I plan on calling as soon as I get new broodies this spring. Good Luck and let me know if he took too much hurricane damage, so I can get with him and see If I can help. I have some of his stock still.

Hi everyone! Following up on my journey with incubating!

2 two eggs I had originally posted about, I do believe I lost them. The vessels have gotten much thinner and harder to see and the black dot just looks like it smudged. I do have another question. I have 6 red eggs left, great movement. But, is this what a single embryo egg looks like? It looks like 2 to me, but I'm not sure. ALL 6 of the remaining eggs look exactly like this. Sorry for the poor quality. I took a still shot from a video that I had taken this morning.

Thank you!

Remind me, please, how many days have the eggs been incubating?
Thank you

Hello all,

Adding a follow up photo! I started off with 12 eggs, 3 weren't fertile and 3 didn't make it past day 14. Today is day 18, the big day! Lock down day! The photo attached is a snapshot of what the camera I installed in the incubator is live streaming to my phone.

I have continued to turn the eggs a few more times before lock down- at 5am, 11am, I will turn them again at 5pm and then, at 11pm I will position the eggs based on the air sacks and officially begin lockdown. This will give me enough time to make adjustments to my humidity.

I maintained my temperature between 99-100 with the occasional spike up to 102 which would last 30-45 minutes at most. My humidity at 16-20 for the first 7-10 days then upped it to 25 until today (day 18) and just now added more water to increase my humidity to 60-65%. Is that an okay humidity for a dry incubation method with forced air?

If all goes well, I will be uploading some photos of the new chicks!! I'm so excited!

Thank you all!!
