Is this a boy or girl duck?

I have exactly zero experience with ducks so I figure I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right, so I vote girl! She's very sleek.

Don't boy ducks usually have that curled feather on the tail? I'm pretty sure all the boys have that, so in that case, this one would be a girl.

How old is claire? Looks like a female to me. But males dont get their plummage until a certain age. And they dont get their drake feather (curly) feather until a certain age also.

What does her quack sound like, is she loud? Or kind of raspy.

Oh, you guys cant even see her pretty blue-ish feathers... I'm uploading more pictures to a different thread so go check em out! I also think she is a girl I'm just anxious for her to lay an egg!

That for sure is a girl. It looks like a female mallard. We call them little susies. Thmale mallards have a shiny green head and are very colorful.
