I was supposed to be buying three buff orp pullets, but I think the last is a roo due to the red comb and wattles which are way more pronounced. They're all supposedly the same age.

Adding new pics 11/11/08. Son holding them, looking on, pullet on left, suspected cockerel on right.

These are the pullets (pardon the dirty water in the duck pond, it's changed every day, but they are MESSY!)

My son took these pics of the suspected cockerel and had a hard time getting a good face shot. I don't plan to keep any roos in my layers pen so if it's a roo, he'll have to go.

Look like pullets to me. The tail feathers in that one are confusing though. Are the head shots below the third picture of the same bird?

Yes, the last three pictures are all of the same bird. The others have no wattles to speak of and barely any comb.

Then I'm going to say all pullets.

If it were a cockerel, it's comb and wattles would have been MUCH larger than it is now.

Even in specific breeds, some birds mature faster than others.

TY! Guess I'd better hang on to that one for a while before giving it away on freecycle then!

Meanwhile, anybody need two free ee cockerels?

hehe no, the ee's are definitely 100% cockerels. No need for pics on those.

I'd bet my left leg on it.
