1 week old .... from hatchery .... Is this a Buff Silkie ?!?! Whats with the spots on the head and dark on the wings ?!?! I have 1 more of these, and she's ALL light colored !!

Hmm...I'm wondering how that person can say its a rooster too...but it could just be a phase, where the grow their silkie feathers? I have some silkie chicks right now too but they are black ones so I can't help as much ...

When I was trying to figure out what gender my silkie chicks were, I was told by a major silkie breeder on here that silkies are one of the hardest chickens to sex and that you cant tell until they are well over two months old what gender they are.

That baby is wayyyyyyyy tooooo young to determine sex! It's a partridge chick and we'll let you know in about 4-6 months if it's a pullet or a cockerel

Looks like the buff silkie that I got from a hatchery...mine are 10 weeks old and I still don't know what sex they are!
