I found this chick in the middle of the road on my way home today. Nearly ran over it in a round-about, made another loop and stopped right beside it and picked it up with no problems. It looks a little stressed and weak, but is eating and drinking.
It's been a couple of hours now and he has perked up. Preening, stretching his body upward and stretching his wings. I had a large finch cage so I put him in there for now.
Birdaholic.......I'd take you up on that if I lived nearby! If he stays healthy I just may try finding a friend for him.
Altho I have to disagree on weather its a male or female, to be 100% sure of sex show us a pic of its breast, a male should have a golden spot on his breast while females have just regular plumage.
Well, I drove by the same area today and found 4 more! 2 had been hit by cars. I think it's the last ones since I did a search of the area.
Crash, here's a photo of one caught this afternoon. He's in good feather and is smaller than the others but shows the best coloring. They all have the same color chest.
