Step away from the crotchular area and
stop doing that before you injure one.

I'm sorry you didn't get a straight answer.Excuse my ignorance but this is a 4 week old orpington. I'm pretty sure it's a boy judging by the comb...but is this his penis?...the tiny white dot. (Excuse my hands/nails... They're for work!)
It's not a penis in the human sense. It's a small protruding bubble that is in essence a penis. Roos have them, while pullets don't. They are quite noticeable with vent sexing. I've seen people use tooth picks, when vent sexing, which to me is quite dangerous. When I vent sex, I use Q TIPS, which is the same thing people use, when cleaning pasty butt. When done properly and with care is very safe.So is this a joke? after all these replies I'm not sure.
I took the chicks that are obviously boys and the ones that are obviously girls and the little white dot was in the boys vent but not in the girls.
Thank you!! Finally someone with some knowledge!! I hope you don't mind me asking but where and how did learn how to Vent sex? This is a skill I'm really interested in and I don't fall for "only experienced people can do it" because everyone has to start somewhere. It's not a penis in the human sense. The reason why most hatcheries only guarantee 90% accuracy is the sheer volume and time limitations that vent sexers have to contend with. It's like an assembly line.
