I showed pic to hubby, he's pretty smart when comes to chicks, he says not chicken for sure. More likely a type of buzzard or turkey vulture. He has had crows, hawks, owls, quails, pheasants, pigeon, etc. Definitely not penguin , he's was joking on that one.Hi! I’m new to chickens this year and after I got some chicks, a friend of mine found a lone chick that appeared the same size/ age as mine wandering in her neighborhood. So I trapped it and put it in with mine about a week ago... only problem is that it’s a very strange looking chicken.. I’m starting to wonder if it’s a chicken at all? Thoughts?
So funny
Really? What in the world makes him think it isn't a chicken?I showed pic to hubby, he's pretty smart when comes to chicks, he says not chicken for sure. True but you notice she wasn't around.
Sounds like she too was ashamed of it and gave it the boot.
@The Moonshiner already answered correctly that it is a chicken. It has the wrong shape beak and no snood and definitely is not a turkey poult.
Aw, they're all ugly-cute while feathering. But yes, it's a bit silly to guess at whether it's a chicken or not.You all are too funny.
There is nothing about this bird that points to it being anything besides a chicken.
Its not a turkey poult, buzzard, raven, etc, etc.
Just an ugly chick.
Perhaps it's a feathered troll!Really? What in the world makes him think it isn't a chicken?
And what makes him think buzzard or vulture?
Would love to see any pic of a vulture or buzzard that resembles this bird in any way except normal bird features.
I never imagined people were so unaware of what a chicken chick looks like compared to a nesting bird chick.
I'm about to go to the barn and round up a bunch of sparrow chicks and take them to the swap.
Edit to add..... Anyone know vultures or buzzards that readily eats chicken scratch?
Maybe you're onto something.Aw, they're all ugly-cute while feathering. But yes, it's a bit silly to guess at whether it's a chicken or not.
Perhaps it's a feathered troll!![]()
