Hello Chicken Fam!
So I ordered my chicks from Cackle Hatchery, their City Town Special- 3 where I can order 3 of the breeds they offer, and I bought an Easter Egger, Blue laced Wyandotte and a Silver Laced Wyandotte. Well, I ordered 3 and received an extra Silver Laced Wyandotte. From the very beginning I noticed that one had a bigger comb and wattles ever since it was young and had faster growth, BUT I noticed that while it did, they are both the same size and they both acted the same. There wasn’t much different besides their comb and wattle size. They hatched August 1st, so it’s been 7 months, and it doesn’t have any saddle, sickle or hackle feathers, I’m guessing it’s a pullet but what are your thoughts? I guess the only thing I’d have to do is wait to see if it starts laying eggs or setting in the nestbox right? Haha. It’s just strange how it has like a big pea/rose comb while the Easter egger and the other two wyandottes only have a small pea comb. I guess I’ve just never seen this happen before but maybe it’s common for you all. What are your thoughts? Is it a potential roo or hen?
