Can you call a game warden or wildlife refuge to trap it? Mange puts every other animal in the area at risk.

It being wild, nobody in my area would bother with it-if thats the case near you i would just shoot the poor thing.

Coyotes are in our area, and people near us have spotted them, and we are almost possitive that this is a sick coyote and not a fox, but can anyone tell me if they think otherwise? I just wanna get a second opinion. Thanks!

Its a fox with mange. You can get mange treatment for the vets and leave some food out for it with the treatment in. Then it will recover.

If you don't want it around maybe you can shoot it if that is allowed where you are.

I hate to see any animal suffer, predator or prey.

Thank you to everyone who has responded to my post. I do now understand it was just a fox with heavy mange. I've only had a BYC account for a few weeks, so that is why I asked you guys WAYYY after I saw this fox. I saw him about 13 months ago, but we would see him frequently. Ever since about a year ago, we havent seen him. I figured that now that I have a BYC account I'd ask all of you what you think he was. (I should've included in the post that it was a long time ago when we saw him) I think he probably died or got killed a long time ago, or else I would contact the dnr or something to remove it. Thank yall!

By the face I am going to say a fox, but it looks very sick. Possibly mange as I see others posting, but it could be something worse. I guess if he has not shown up in a while that he probably passed on from his/her condition. How sad. They may be a chicken eater, but they are so beautiful.
