Is this a female? She/he's 22 days old.

Yes definitely female. Good job hearing the first “bark” as I call it.

Yayyyyy. :wee Thanks. :goodpost: I'm so happy I wasn't imagining things! From my countless searches on developing duckling voice I only ever found a few videos, so I'm not so confident. But I used to have 4 drakelings before so any sound those 4 never made is likely female.

Have a video of the others?

Yes, but only one, this, I just heard this voice from this duckling for the 1st time, and I believe it's a she! Previously she only made faintly female voice like 1-2% of the time, but still was more promising than the other 4, so I have her and the 1st duckling that you just confirmed female, in their baby brooder in my bedroom at night. That's why it's all dark here lol. Here goes.

The other 4 no longer make baby sounds (except peeps) but the sounds they currently make are what both female ducklings I heard on youtube and my previous drakelings (used to) make, so they could be either gender. I'll take a video as soon as I can.

Update : The 2nd duckling sounds clearly female now. Plus, just this morning 2 other ducklings just made female sounds for the 1st time. This means I should have at least 4 girls out of 6. (They're 29 days old) The 1st duckling also just had her 1st quack last night.

But regrettably I won't be able to hear everyone quack together as I just gave 4 of them away, leaving only the first 2 that was identified female. Heck, I'd keep only one if I can be with her 24/7. Reasons being, I can only buy a small limited amount of feed each week as the feed store is like on the total opposite side of the city and I rely on a friend who goes there each week to buy me the feed. He can only carry 6 kilos on his motorcycle. I need to chop up tons of greens each day to supplement the limited feed, hence it's too much trouble to keep too many ducks. I could of course order the feed to be delivered to me if I keep like maybe 100 ducks but I'm just not having 100 pets lol. Anyways this concludes this topic. Again I thank everyone for the help.
