Is this a fox?

Is that a "Whompus Cat"?

My dad told me that one lived in the attic of our house when I was a kid.

Ummm..... I have LF birds and I have a problem with a fox. So, YES, they DO get bigger birds.... BUT, That does look like a cat to me too..

Are you talking about the picture I posted? Because it is a gray fox. A red fox is another breed of fox and considerably bigger. The gray is no larger than my 12 lb house cat in fact, someplace on here I have pictures posted of both using the same camera in the same position. A gray has a dark phase but it doesn't look like the picture in the OP which is definitely a cat not a fox of either breed.

I say Cat.The head is a bit round and fat in the pic.Look's like a kitty on the make.We have Red Fox here so I personaly have never seen other color's.Whompus cat's live with the "Snipes" lol.Get a trap and put some nice fresh tuna or can cat food in and You may get the Mystery critter. If it's a Fox I doubt you trap him in a live trap with bait if you do You are lucky.Update Us.

I just saw black, black foxes on tv. It was a show about dogs etc. something like "The nature of dogs," They had nasty tempered black foxes and showed if they selected the guietest of each breeding, after 8 generations they would get a very domesticated animal. The foxes were black as night. I don't know if they were foreign foxes.

Looks like a cat t me...if you're having a predator problem...I'd set a trap to find out for sure

I have had cats all my life, all different breeds. This is NOT a cat--legs are too long, tail too long , body just not shaped like a cat.

JMHO,
Jen
