Is this a good deer hunting gun for Hubby? HELP!!!

Ok I have a question my hubby's birthday is coming up and I want to buy him a nice hunting gun for deer season.

His buddy told me this is a good gun: Mossberg 12 Gauge shotgun Combo.
It's a 500 model has a scope. it is a pump gun also.
It's priced at: $349.00 is this a good deal.
What are your opionons on this gun?

I like my Remington .243
My son has a Model 700 youth .243

I know some like to hunt with a shotgun. I like my rifle.

Rifles are illegal in Ohio. So rifle is not an option for me.

Mossberg makes good stuff. The big question I have is do you trust your DH's buddy to know his taste in guns?

well.... he knows more than I do in guns. He owns a lot and has mossberg guns. so I guess.

I have decided for sure now.

Once I am financially able I will become an ex-patriot. I will live outside the US and renounce my citizenship. I don't think anything short of Ted Nugent becoming President will change this course of action.
